It was an essay competition focused on the topic related to psychology.Through this experience, I was able to deepen my understanding of how people shift from a personal identity to a group-based self , which was the topic, and how they might eventually lose their own color.
I found this a very appealing topic as a teenager, since many people , especially in Korea, are constantly all busy following the trend to avoid falling behind. This was one characteristic that I believe was quite limiting , as it discourages people from expressing their true selves. Thus, the competition gave me a valuable opportunity to research and explore this idea further, particularly by examining how deindividuation occurs on social media.
