Green Tiger Club – old uniform sale

This sale is one of our club traditions by collecting uniforms from graduating seniors every year, and reselling those that are in good condition to undergraduates at a cheaper price. (By the way, our school uniform is in a hoodie, t-shirt form, which made it much easier to sell them even though the size was a bit off.)

Through this event, we could:

1. prevent wastes made from hundreds of uniforms each year ( since most of the seniors throw away the school uniforms )

2. make this something like a small school tradition of loyalty and community bonding ( just like you get your elder siblings’ clothes , if you’re the younger one)

3. also make profits from them to use for our ongoing project : reusable hallpass

→ This picture is me waiting for all the uniforms to be cleaned and washed!! There’s a little behind-the-scenes story for this..

Since it was our very first time doing a uniform sale, we stored the uniforms in a big container box over the winter. When the second semester started, we finally opened it up to organize everything for the next year. But well… some uniforms had gotten a bit moldy and smelly, because of the humid environment in the storage. So of course, we had to go to the washing room….. (lesson learned!)

UPDATES!  (2024. 10. 13 ) At first, we were quite concerned if we could make this an annual thing, since the time period was overlapping during the new-uniform sales made from school mostly for the freshmen and others. Now, here comes the good news~ We still do this every year!! Plus, it’s become something a lot of people look forward to, because some of the older uniforms are now “limited editions” (back when the design was embroidered instead of printed). So this makes many students wanting the vintage stuff.
