For this competition, I chose a topic that sits between environmental issues and economics: carbon trading. Since it was my first time blending other subjects with natural science, the whole experience felt really fresh and intriguing. I learned a lot about real-life solutions for reducing emissions and got to dive much deeper into how they work. I also had to research carbon markets and connect them specifically to South Korea. Because I’d never studied or analyzed these concepts before, it took me a bit of time to understand the basics well enough to talk about current trends.

Since I had to film a video talking about this topic straight through without looking at my script or any notes, I ended up recording it over 20 times… This might honestly be the day I’ve stuttered the most in my entire high school life…
