The purpose of this field trip is to give a volunteering opportunity for students to learn about agriculture and rural life, as well as to contribute to a local community project! Through this volunteering , students might engage in meaningful work while gaining valuable skills and experience.
We had 14 students including our club members participate. We went to the small countryside village, Jangjeon-ri, and walked around the whole village to gather all the trash. Actually, our original plan was to do some agricultural work and help the elders there with their harvesting or yielding crops, but due to the bad weather and the time period, we didn’t have much to do.
We met some cows during the work, and also we had to sleep in the village hall with the head of the village, which had familiar corn smells and midnight grass smells. It honestly felt just like a dream, very peaceful…
